Report of a portion of Role Play: Save the nine baronies!

The following is the report of a comtpte part Barbarians Of Lemuria , excellent role play by Simon Washbourne, translated into French by Kobayashi and illustrated by grumph. It is important clear that we do not play in the world of Lemuria, but in my own world of Foland and players assume the role of characters rather altruistic (but not completely selfless either ;-)).

The nine baronies, because of the political intelligence of the nine barons allies for centuries, have so far been preserved from the Civil War (and the gradual conquest of the island by verougues) raging on Borena . Leda edrulaine young spy, is sent on a mission supposedly easy to "take the temperature" of the place. She discovered (by chance) of an infamous conspiracy from no less infamous verougues that appear to have begun to place their pawns in this country. Indeed, the strength of the army of the nine baronies the thickness and solidity of the wall that separates the Nine Lands Boren remains are such that verougues can attack them without weakening them first.

But first present our merry group of adventurers:

- Julius Alexandrius: Former captain of the guard of Freeport, a free city Boren, a man in mind dedicated to the rigid law absolute respect, even if he allows himself a few departures from this principle, its endless dialectic perfectly justified : So it does not rob the corpses of his enemies but performs "spoils of war" and do not steal their gold collection but "ill-gotten funds to better defend the law."

- Wandalark is a young woman (oh no, for once, it is not mega-cannon or super sexy) with a past rather confused acrobat waitress inn and pirate. Adopted by Julius on port market because it was selling sausages without a license, she was imprisoned and sentenced to 30 days in prison, largely because of his insolence to the court. His culinary talents have left prison after a few days because the board of Freeport chartered a boat to search Libreterre a cargo of wine and a cook was missing. Wandalark specialist is an inn called jokes and forget to shut up at the most opprtuns.

Those two (Julius as head of security) found themselves on a merchant ship that was sunk by a galley verougue near the sides of Libreterre. Saved by the libreterrans, greeted with great warmth and kindness by the natives of this island mysterious and surprisingly, our two friends (and third ranked adventures since) have agreed to rescue Leda captured by pirates they have succeeded brilliantly. (The screenplay is by ) They have read the information it held on the situation of the nine baronies and, at the request of the Heads of Leda, decided to leave this part of Boren. Continue our presentation of the group:

- MiaFrr, aka Nyafrou a kitling (man-cat) alchemist joined this hellish pair. Saved by the Edrulains certain death, he could not refuse when they asked him to work for them. Specialist gears of war, good archer, doctor, artist in his spare time, a model of elegance, a sort of intermediary between a Leonardo da Vinci young and Puss in Boots, it was quickly dubbed ... Leopard Vinci.

- Leda (NPC) was a dancer in various dens of different ports before setting serving Libreterrans. Boy in the genre (she disguises herself often adolescent), it is rather pretty. Feisty elite, familiar with the nine baronies to have spent quite some time, it will be invaluable for the other three. She is a member of the Order of Edrulains, an order of warrior-magicians Libreterran spy many unconventional methods (basically, all means are good) that trying to successfully time to protect their island Foland and the murderous madness of verougues.

The first destination of this quartet is the singular barony of the Silver Coast. The latter is calm and prosperous. His Baron Lubin (60 years), recently celebrated his marriage with a young and beautiful princess of the far north, Ludvina. The problem is that Lubin must have an heir (or heiress) before the age of 65, otherwise the power will be sent to Cardinal Jocasta, an abominable racist religious fanatic and obtuse, what the Libreterrans not want under any circumstances.

Adventurers discover that the residents of the barony fear like the plague preachers serving Jocasta, which promise all a doom if they do not rally to their master. They do not yet know that sometimes a preacher can kill a person by pointing ...

MaiFrr takes time to acquire at various merchants and apothecaries five barrels of saltpeter, charcoal, sulfur and mix it all wisely.

Later, they attend on the way to a given play on the town square by kitlings minstrels belonging to a people known for traveling artists stray cats. The play is fun with lots of humor preachers. It is interrupted with a roar by thugs who prey on young kitling troupe member who tended his hat to the audience to collect a few pieces. The blood of our adventurers missed a beat and they start beating the unwelcome, the thugs who all wear a pin with a silver leaf chem, symbol of the god whose sole Jocasta is a bad representative.

During the scuffle, which occurred Jocasta, pointing the finger at Leda, screaming "Die". The latter chokes and collapses, wounded. Miafrr, which has quietly away (he does not like fighting, it's messy), shoots an arrow and killed the priest (Note from MJ: A critical success and a coarse spray damage. Rather than playing a point of villainy that would have allowed Jocasta to survive-it's still the boss-scheduled for the end, I decided to leave it dead and go on something else). The last big guys standing flee. MiaFrr treats Leda and discovers a tiny dart stuck in his neck.

Wandalark and Julius question a big arm, with a few slaps. The latter turns out to be an ex-offender hired by preachers to "conquer their order." Julius search Jocasta, undresses him and discovers a black cobra tattooed on his shoulder. Curious symbol for a priest of the One! At this time occurs the militia, warned by the thugs, who embarks Julius Wandalark and Leda. Miafrr eclipsed rooftop.

At the station, the three are copiously to beat (Julius: "These are amateurs. When I beat someone, it leaves no trace"). In the following night, Miafrr escapes again reaps the militia came to the inn where he took a little rest. Finding refuge on the roofs, he saw his comrades embarked on a major care-wagon, supposedly to be taken for questioning at the Baron. Horror, the driver is simply a large arms of the day, wearing the uniform of the militia! Diligence starts but is market day and it advances too quickly, allowing Miafrr to follow the rooftops. She soon stopped in the yard (close) of a town or a big fat thirty heavily armed preparing to avenge their comrades thrashed yesterday. Miafrr not hesitate. It takes a powder keg in the yard. Leda sees the barrel, threw himself on Wanda to put down, while Julius remained in the van. The keg exploded, putting out of action most of the big arm, slightly injuring Wanda, Leda and Julius, who were quick to suppress their opponents remaining, collecting keys to their chains and to discard of the latter. Joined by Miafrr ("you can not find anything more discreet to save us?"), They flee, take their business to the inn (whose coat of Leda, who can attest to its state of Edrulaine).

Slipping in a public hearing of the Baron, they realize that it makes justice wisely and do not seem to be a bad guy. Once the hearing is completed, Leda is shown in coat. The young Baroness kneels before her. Lokar is a worshiper of the god of Libreterrans who, by his message of tolerance and peace, began to attract more good people around the Foland.

The baron is quite bored. He has before him who killed the great Cardinal. Even if they have him as a favor, he can not let bygones be bygones. He can not afford to kill allies Edrulains to help the nine baronies and take revenge for this act expeditiously. Julius called a tattoo. The Baron then offered their "Invest the remains of Jocasta, find evidence of his treachery and I spend the sponge. Of course, if you were brought to be killed or captured, I formally deny having had contact with you" (Note MJ: Yes, it's a big string. But hey, it was about three o'clock in the morning and he had to finish ;-)).

The attack on the house of Jocasta (a large fortified building in the sticks) deserves a long story by itself. The kegs of powder were found very effective. Our adventurers have made great slaughter of thugs before Julius and Leda are placed hors de combat by their leader (DOJ Rating: 3 agility, 3 melee, Line Expert to the sword 'is a bit too for one man, especially when dealing with adventurers a little tired). Meanwhile, the poisoned arrows raining down on them and whistling in their ears without touching them. In desperation, Wandalark blew their last keg of gunpowder. Will then appear on the ground a little devil all green and ugly-and very dead, armed with a blowpipe and poisoned darts, which will be identified after their return to the baron by the librarian as a "ridiculus Démonicus Invisiblus Sarbacanus" (Note from MJ : I was tired and I assume the name of the grotesque). The discovery of a treaty of conjuration of demons in a secret cache of office of Jocasta, the black cobra (symbol of a sect of vérougues even more frightful than the standard verougues-if possible-) tattooed on shoulder of the head of big arms are evidence of the deception of the infamous Cardinal.

Raiders welcomed by Baron they still blame the condition of the house of Jocasta, ownership of the barony. Leda, using its influence on the Baroness, he quietly explains that it is essential to have a child but there is absolutely no need for her husband or father. There is plenty of knights in this beautiful castle and it will not do Lokar rigor of this small penknife (necessary for a good cause) in the marriage contract.

In conclusion, always so much delight to play BOL, whether GM or player side. The system of professions is really great to type and create the background of the characters and the system runs fast and well (Note that we played without magic for now, the rules do not suit me). In
